Cricket Club Web Sites

Club Cricket exists in almost all the countries of the World be they a Test country or one not yet a member of ICC.In a much smaller number of countries womens club cricket flourishes as well. Club Cricket is found in greatest numbers in Britain where it remains in something of a crisis at present as attempts are made to produce an elite level of the weekend game which may provide a feeder for the first class level. This process has its vehement critics as well as loud supporters but it is effecting the numbers of people playing and has led to a marked decrease in playing on a Sunday.
The strongest club cricket has been traditionally played in Australia where it is completely integrated with the rest of the game and the same is true in New Zealand and South Africa.where locations and facilities are usually of high quality. The West Indies is similar if the grounds are often rather more rustic. On the subcontinent although there are many magnificent clubs much club cricket is played on huge open park grounds with overlapping boundaries.
Throughout the non test world club cricket varies a lot but many countries have excellent clubs every bit as good and sometimes grand as those in ICC Full Members.
It is an oddity of both ICC and ECB that 'Club Cricket' finds sparse mention in its published strategies and promotional literature except as a feeder for the First Class and International game. that aspect is important but 'Club Cricket' at all sorts of level has wonderful virtues of its own. Hopefully in UK such representatives of Club Cricket (not recreational cricket please!) as Cricket Conferences in UK will shout loud the case for club cricket and lobby effectively its cause.
This section is in its infancy but will grow steadily. With your assistance it may accelerate into the largest section on the site and, of course, may act as a good promoting tool for your club and or its web site.
   You may email us
worldcricketcentre. Good luck with bat and ball...and, of course, the club finances.

Below are listed several links to useful and major compilations of cricket club web sites as well as our own. Cricket Clubs change web addresses more often than most so sometimes links will be out of date. When that happens it is worth refering to a search engine.
